You will be able to give a high level of customer service to our customers, be able to communicate well and of course be commercially aware! We encourage ideas and creativity so thinking “outside the box” is even better.

Whilst previous experience in horticultural retail is ideal, a sound general knowledge and passion for plants is a must.

GARDEN CARE MANAGER

Scotsdales, a family owned business is currently seeking a Garden Care Manager reporting directly to the Managing Director and managing the Garden Care department. The Garden Care team pride themselves with their product knowledge and customer service. This is an important position where you will lead the team to deliver high standards of retailing, to maximise sales opportunities, manage stock availability, ensure all members of the team have a flexible approach, to monitor and review the performance of the team, review daily sales reports and take appropriate action. You will have a solid management background be approachable and an evidence effective communication.

The appointed person will have a strong background in garden centre horticultural sundries excellent knowledge of and experience in negotiation & procurement of garden care product.

The role requires you to be proactive in working with other departments to maximise opportunities for linked sales in addition to supporting the merchandising team when required. You should demonstrate an awareness of the seasonal product changes and manage the range variations.

This role is a key link between garden living and horticulture, therefore a sound knowledge of gardening and the gardener’s requirements is desirable.

GENERAL ASSISTANT & DRIVER

This is a full time position – 5 Days a week which include alternate weekends

We have a full time vacancy based mainly in our delivery and hard landscaping department.

You will be required to deliver to customers within a 30 mile radius of the centre as well as assisting as drivers mate in two man delivery therefore some heavy lifting will be involved, ensuring H&S is adhered to at all times.

At other times you will be helping in the hardlandcaping area assisting with customer purchases, delivery advice and providing a high level of customer service at all times. A proactive approach is essential as well as the ability to work as a team.

Clean driver’s license required, local knowledge and advantage.

WEEKEND GENERAL ASSISTANT – GIFT DEPARTMENT

SALES ASSISTANT (S) - GARDEN LIVING

This is a full time position – 5 Days a week to include some weekends and a late night.

Your duties will include helping and giving advice to customers on high value products including garden furniture, barbecues and outdoor living products.

Be able to advise and make suggestions on all our product lines (training will be given).

Be proactive in helping customers make their decisions and complete the sale.

Working with the correct department arrange and organise customer deliveries ensuring they are completed correctly and efficiently.

Daily care of the furniture department including cleaning and ensuring promotional material is correct and up to date. Providing support in other areas of the business when needed especially in Christmas Department in the winter season and supporting the operations department with information desk and tills cover.

The people we are looking to join the team will be:

  • Well presented, outgoing and friendly
  • Able to quickly build a good rapport with customers
  • Confident with dealing with high value products and sales
  • Able to use your own initiative and have a flexible approach to their working day
  • At least one year’s Retail experience
